Avocados and tomatoes reduce risk of prostate cancer

June 10, 2010  |  Men's Health

Recent lab studies found that when used together, the natural vitamin E found in avocadoes and the natural lycopene found in tomatoes reduced the growth of prostate cancer cells by 73%.  While the combination may or may not work for you, it’s a tasty combination.  So why not eat them together at least once a week if not more often.

How to dish up

Buy salsa sauce or make your own using fresh tomatoes.

Buy or make guacamole with fresh avocados.

Combine into a dip and use a whole grain chip to munch and crunch.  Or, just eat the combo as it is.

A Mexican dish

If you do eat out and you want to try something healthy go to a Mexican restaurant and try their guacamole.

Or course, be wary of the corn chips which will undoubtedly be deep fried.  Ask if you can get as healthy chips as possible.
