This 13 week term is all about preventing disease.  Quite possibly the idea that you can prevent disease is new to you.  Well, research has proven that one can prevent or reduce in severity a number of diseases with a healthy lifestyle.

We’re starting with a self assessment because you need to know where you are to better determine how you will get to your health goal.  Let’s give you an example.

If you were captured, a hood placed over your head, and left in a farmer’s field, what is the first thing you would do.  It wouldn’t be to start walking because you don’t know which way would take you closer to home.  So, the first thing you need to know is where you are.  And then you need to know which way to go to get home, and how best to get there; walk, hitch a ride, call for help?  It’s the same way when it comes to your health.  What are you doing now that’s healthy?  What are you doing now that’s not?

The WellnessU Self-Assessment is a personal inventory that is designed to help you gain insight into your current state of physical and emotional wellness. AND all of the factors that have an impact on how well you are now and how often and how serious your medical needs are likely to be in the future.  The Assessment is a start towards offering guidance and tools to transform your lifestyle into a one of health and wellness.
